<![CDATA[MTS]]> http://www.mtsfilms.com/blog.html?cq=1 en-us Tue, 04 Nov 2008 00:26:44 GMT <![CDATA[November 3, 2008 - Doomed Finale]]> http://www.mtsfilms.com/blog.html?cq=1&p=71 Series 1 of Doomed is now done!  It's been a long road, especially since I've never tried to do anything that was serialized in the past, so creating a total of 16 episodes (a teaser, an intro, and 14 standalones) has been tough, but worth it.  I'm looking forward to doing a second series and expanding it a bit, but in the mean time I have another spud movie in progress.  There seems to be so much to do there just aren't enough hours in the day to write, shoot, edit, and post new stuff.  I don't know how these people do it who have hundreds of videos!

]]> Tue, 04 Nov 2008 00:26:44 GMT <![CDATA[October 20, 2008 - Winding Down Doom]]> http://www.mtsfilms.com/blog.html?cq=1&p=70 Well, I've had a good run on Doomed, but I'm winding down the first series.  Episode #12 is live, #13 will go up next weekend, and I'll follow up with a final episode the following week.  It's been fun and I hope to create a second series in the spring, but in the mean time I've got plenty of other things to take care of.  My new spud parody is coming along nicely.  The set is built, and now I'm working on getting furniture and props to fill it out.   Things are moving along!

I'm so impressed by it's performance.  I would have never thought a little video I did for a contest would have done so well, both in the contest (a top 10 finalist) and on the web so far.  I have great hope for my other movies and my upcoming new spud parody.



A new episode of Doomed is also available.  "Victor Von-Debt Collector" went live on Tuesday and I hope you'll stop by and check it out.
]]> Thu, 11 Sep 2008 13:36:12 GMT <![CDATA[September 4, 2008 - More Doom]]> http://www.mtsfilms.com/blog.html?cq=1&p=68 Doomed "Episode #5: Got Doom?" is live.  Doom is finally back with a new episode!  Tune in each week for a new vlog of Doom.  There will be a total of 13 episodes with the posibility of a 14th on the tail end if things go according to plan.  Then Dr. Doom will be taking a long vacation as I work on other projects, but I hope to bring him back at some point.  If you want more Dr. Doom, please let me know with your ratings and views!

]]> Thu, 04 Sep 2008 13:34:52 GMT <![CDATA[September 2, 2008 - Laboring on Labor Day]]> http://www.mtsfilms.com/blog.html?cq=1&p=67 Well, all summer I've been swamped, and unfortunately, fall doesn't really change that.   I hoped to have more videos up and ready to roll sooner (as my last entry in May would have suggested) but alas, life gets in the way.  Good news, I do have more videos coming!  "Doomed" is back with a bunch of new episodes in the coming months, all leading up to the November elections.  I've also made some good headway on my new parody movie and the sets are taking shape.   It's going to be a busy fall and I hope to push on through winter with some more great stuff.

]]> Tue, 02 Sep 2008 19:35:48 GMT <![CDATA[May 15, 2008 - New Movies Coming]]> http://www.mtsfilms.com/blog.html?cq=1&p=66 Really, new movies are coming.  It takes a long time to do anything, especially when you're the writer, producer, director, actor, cinematographer, grip, best boy etc. and have to balance all that with a day job.   Thankfully I don't do it all alone, but the point is I don't have a crew except some close friends and family who help where they can (and do a great job, by the way).


So, more episodes of Doomed are not far off.  I'm revising scripts and seeing where the final episodes take us.  I'm not ruling out anything beyond the first series, but current plans are to wrap things up over the course of the summer and into the fall.


Full pre-production has begun on my lastest potato head movie as well.  Spuds just seem to be my niche right now.  The script is written and nearly finalized.  Characters are being created I hope to move this project right along.  I don't want to ruin the surprise, but I can tell you this one will be in black and white.

]]> Thu, 15 May 2008 17:53:16 GMT <![CDATA[April 17, 2008 - Copyright]]> http://www.mtsfilms.com/blog.html?cq=1&p=65 Just a quick note before I get into the heart of this post.  I've started pulling down videos from my old account.  I've made them private so I don't loose the number of hits they had or the original date uploaded, but I figured why duplicate?  I want to drive more traffic to my new channel so I'm basically stealing my own hits. Which takes us to this...


I just happened to do a search for one of my own videos and came across a second posting of it.  While imitation may be the most sincere form of flattery, just up and reposting is not.  Now, I really appreciate that someone liked my movies enough to go and repost them, and I give them alot of credit for plugging my website and my channel, but I just don't get enough hits to be able to afford someone siphoning off a few hundred here or there.  Sure, sure, I don't make these for money so it's not like it's really hurting me, except that I would hope that I can grow my movies and productions to the point where someday someone would pay me for this or get partnered and spreading out hits over a ton of different channels and users doesn't help me.  I don't hold this person in any ill-will for reposting, and I'm sure I'll have to tackle this again some day, but I do put a ton of work into each and every single one of my movies and all I can get from them is credit for what I've done, so I'm going to hold on to that.  They're free, they can be added to favorites and embedded in pages and I think that's enough.  I just draw the line at having someone else's username attached to them.


]]> Thu, 17 Apr 2008 19:42:46 GMT <![CDATA[April 14, 2008 - Entropy]]> http://www.mtsfilms.com/blog.html?cq=1&p=64 Well, Doomed is on a short hiatus.  I have to catch up with a few things and then I'll dive back in with a ton of new episodes, and by a ton I mean 4.  Ok, actually more than 4.  But until then there's Entropy.  Entropy is a short film I volunteered my voice for.  It's a cool little noir film out of New Zealand done by a film student down there.  I saw his posting on one of the film boards I check out and gave it a shot.
